Boy collides with car, taken to hospital in Miami Co.

UPDATE @ 10:01 p.m.:

A boy was riding his bike in the wrong direction down a one-way road when he struck the side of a vehicle in Troy Monday night, according to police.

The child was riding his bike south on Garfield Avenue when he collided with the vehicle at the intersection of West Race Street, according to Troy Police Patrolmen Ormberg. The vehicle was traveling west on W. Race Street.

Medics arrived on scene around 8:20 p.m. and transported the boy to Upper Valley Medical Center.

The extent of his injuries were not known.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and will not be cited, Ormberg said.

FIRST REPORT:

A child was reportedly struck by a vehicle Monday night in Troy.

Emergency crews were sent around 8:20 p.m. to the scene at the corner of Garfield Avenue and West Race Street, according to Miami County dispatchers.

The condition of the child was not made available.
