Coronavirus: 26,954 total cases reported as Ohio continues to reopen

There are 26,954 total cases and 1,581 deaths attributed to coronavirus in Ohio, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

The state is reporting 25,349 confirmed cases and 1,431 deaths.

There are 4,791 hospitalizations and 1,277 ICU admissions.

On Thursday, Gov. Mike DeWine’s administration announce reopening dates for multiple industries, including childcare, gyms, pools, some sports leagues, Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle offices, campgrounds and horse racing.

Today is the first day for hair salons, tattoo, piercings, massage and personal beauty business to reopen as part of the state’s plan to reopen. It also marks the first day that restaurants and bars can resume outdoor dining.

Indoor dining is scheduled to restart May 21.
