Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the second floor of the structure when crews arrived around 3 a.m., per initial reports.
There were four occupants inside the home in the 1300 block of W. Riverview Avenue at the time of the fire, but they were able to make it out safely.
Dayton Fire Capt. Mike Fasnacht says the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but they believe it started in a room on the second floor.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
