Pair of dogs, chinchilla rescued from Moraine house fire

UPDATE @ 8:43 a.m.:

Moraine fire fighters rescued two dogs and a chinchilla at a fire in a house on Charlotte Mill Drive in Moraine.

According to Moraine Fire officials, at around 7:30 a.m. a passerby heard fire alarms and smelled smoke outside the home in the 3600 block of Charlotte Mill Drive and called the fire department.

When fire crews arrived, they found a fire in the stove area of the kitchen, and were able to quickly put it out before ventilating the house.

Nobody was home, but fire crews rescued three animals from the home: one dog from inside the house, one that was outside the house and a chinchilla. All the pets were ok, officials said.

The incident is currently under investigation, although fire officials said they believed someone left something on the stove.

Fire crews are responding to a report of a structure fire at a home in the 3600 block of Charlotte Mill Drive in Moraine.
