Neighbors wake woman inside burning Warren County home

UPDATE @ 1:50 a.m: A woman was able to escape her burning home after neighbors knocked on the door to alert her Tuesday night.

OTHER LOCAL NEWS: Crews battle garage fire in Springfield Twp. 

Officials say when they arrived on scene in the 7500 block of Flamingo Street, there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage and attic area of the home around 11:30 p.m.

The fire spread throughout the entire house and crews are deeming the structure a total loss.

The woman, who was sleeping inside when the fire started, was transported to an area hospital due to smoke inhalation, officials say.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but officials do not consider it suspicious.

Red Cross was called to the scene to aid in displacement.

INITIAL REPORT

Extra fire crews are being sent to Franklin Twp. on a report of a structure fire in the 7500 block of Flamingo Street.

Crews were dispatched just before 11:30 p.m.

There have been no reports of injury but we are seeing a report of heavy fire in the garage of a single-story dwelling.
