The male Benson said was taken into custody from the crash scene in the 2200 block of West Schantz Avenue is believed to be 16 and the driver. A female juvenile who also was in the car has been detained, the lieutenant said.
The criminal charges to be pursued include receiving stolen property and vehicle theft as well as fleeing and eluding, Lt. Benson said.
INITIAL REPORT
Two people are in custody after a vehicle fled from an attempted traffic stop in Oakwood on Tuesday afternoon.
According to initial reports, a stolen vehicle was reported on West Schantz Avenue around 3:10 p.m.

Police said an officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the car didn’t stop. Officers said they did not pursue the car but found it crashed into two parked cars and a pole near the intersection of West Schantz Avenue.
The driver, who police identified as a 16-year-old, was taken into custody. One passenger was also captured but a second passenger has been able to elude police.
Both passengers are also believed to be juveniles, according to police.
