Tyler Roysdon was suspended indefinitely Tuesday after comments containing a racial slur were posted to a Facebook page attributed to him.

However, Derrick Foward of the NAACP’s statement incorrectly indicated Roysdon worked for the city of Franklin. He is not, nor ever has been, a city employee. The status of Roysdon’s position is to be determined by Franklin Twp. officials, who have scheduled a disciplinary hearing for Sept. 27.

"As a public servant who is in position to save American lives, the hate he embodies has no place in American society," Foward said.

Foward has called for officials to terminate volunteer firefighter Roysdon from his position after he is accused of posting a message with a racial slur to Facebook.
