Tom Gilliam has a selection of 8 x 10 prints at Heart Mercantile in Dayton’s Oregon District, 438 E. Fifth St. All proceeds will go to the Dayton Foundation’s Greater Dayton Disaster Relief Fund.
“I’m not a handy guy. I don’t have experience with a chainsaw, so I can’t cut down trees, but I asked what can I do as a photographer and as an artist to help,” Gilliam said.
The prints from his collection, in black-and-white and color, include local scenes and photos taken during travel to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and St. Augustine, Fla.
Dayton cityscapes, views of the Century Bar, Jay’s Seafood, the Oregon District and the Dayton Arcade round out the images captured closer to home.
Unframed prints are $22 and framed prints of scenes at Dayton-area breweries are $40.
Gilliam’s architectural photography has also caught the attention of Arcadia Publishing’s History Press, a company that publishes books about local and regional history.
The publisher has contracted with Gilliam to produce a book about the Dayton Arcade planned for spring 2022.
