About the Author
A Dayton woman who thought her mother had died years ago has found out that her mother is living in Florida. Debbie Caulley-Knox says her mother, Lula Cora Hood, disappeared in 1970 at the age of 44. The family says she had a history of disappearing and then coming back, but this time she didn't come back. Then in 1996 people hunting for mushrooms in an abandoned brick yard in Knox County Illinois found a woman's body. A missing persons investigation concluded that it was the body of Hood. Recent DNA tests showed, however, that the body found was not that of Hood. Just one week later Hood was located living in Florida. Caulley-Knox will be traveling to Florida to be reunited with her 85 year old mother. Investigators will continue to try to identify the body found in the brick yard.
