Though the majority of protesters are peaceful, the governor addressed some cases of vandalism, saying that violence will not be tolerated.

DeWine also discussed vandalism at the Ohio Statehouse over the weekend.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating and assured the governor there would be enough troopers protecting the grounds moving forward.

“When there is vandalism or any illegal act, it should be investigated and we are going to seek prosecution,” he said.

Lt. Gov. Jon Husted also condemned the defacing of public and private property and said it doesn’t show respect for fellow citizens.

He called for Ohioans to share their message but to also listen and act respectfully.
