Digital bookmobile attraction to be featured at Dayton Metro Library Event

An interactive reading attraction will be featured at Dayton Metro Library’s Party in the Park event today.

OverDrive's Digital Bookmobile offers readers of all ages an interactive experience, exploring the variety of digital services available at the library.

"The Digital Bookmobile has workstations, touchscreen activities, devices to try and more," said Chuck Duritsch, manager of external relations. "Library staff and eReading experts will be on board, guiding visitors through everything they need to explore the library's digital collection of ebooks and audiobooks."

Visitors can browse a gadget gallery filled with popular devices such as iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets, Chromebooks and Kindles.

The 42-foot long Toterhome, first launched in 2008 in Central Park, New York, has traveled more than 39,000 miles, welcoming 218,526 visitors at over 70 events across the U.S.

The Digital Bookmobile joins the library's traditional bookmobile, GameTruck Dayton, PBS Kids star Mister C, a giant inflatable slide, games and activities for all ages.

The free event will take place rain or shine at the library’s main campus located at 215 E. 3rd Street and Cooper Park from 1 to 4 p.m. Food trucks will be available for refreshments.
