While Amazon and online shopping has turned retail on its head, “off price” retail has been a bright spot in the industry.

These retail chains sell brands at markdown prices and have been growing even as major department stores have been struggling.

Since the stores don’t have more than a handful of each item, they are hard to replicate online, drawing in shoppers that like the thrill of the hunt and are looking to be surprised by a deal while flipping through the clothing racks.

The Dayton area is gaining three more off-price stores:

1. Burlington

Burlington Stores has plans for a new location in Huber Heights. The discount retailer just filed a permit to renovate the former H.H. Gregg location at 5545 Executive Blvd. in the North Heights Plaza owned by PMAT. There are three Burlington stores currently in the Dayton area.

This news organization has reached out to the contractor, owner and Burlington for more information.
