I’m dreaming of a Greene Christmas…

Halloween is officially behind us, the weather is cooler, and November has begun, which means it’s time to start thinking about the upcoming holidays. It’s a time to celebrate, have fun with family and friends, and spread some love around.

The perfect way to kick off the 2017 holiday shopping season is at The Greene for their annual Greene Saturday on Saturday, Nov. 18. On that date, the first 1,000 shoppers to show receipts dated 11/18/17 only ($100 minimum in purchases) will receive a $25 gift card for The Greene. Just bring your receipt to the redemption center, located next to Express at 4396 Holly Drive, to claim your gift card. Receipts can include only one restaurant and no Cinemark purchases. Visit www.TheGreene.com/holiday for more details. You also can save money year-round by signing up for The Greene's loyalty club at www.TheGreene.com/register for exclusive coupons and promotions.

Continue your holiday celebration that same evening, on Saturday, Nov. 18, at The Greene's 12th annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration and Santa Arrival Parade, with festivities beginning at 5 p.m. Gather in Town Square for a live performance by country singer/songwriter Anthony Mossburg of Columbus, followed by an exhilarating song-and-dance performance from Muse Machine.

At 6 p.m., Santa will arrive by parade, followed by the lighting of the 50-foot Christmas tree. A child from the local Special Wish Foundation will help Santa light the magnificent tree. Check your list and smile for Santa, when photos are taken with the jolly fellow, starting 7 p.m., in Santa’s North Pole Village, located at 4382 Juniper Way. Please bring a new, small stuffed animal to donate to the Miami Valley Crime Prevention Association. Donation bins will be located next to The Greene Connect kiosk on Glengarry Drive.

See Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen and others among the live reindeer that will be accompanying Santa. Head over to Glengarry Drive, where you can take a horse-drawn carriage ride for $15 a couple. These charming journeys will be available from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, throughout the holiday season.

Between shopping and eating, visit Santa throughout the holiday season at his North Pole Village at The Greene, located across from Von Maur at 4382 Juniper Way. Santa will be available for picture opportunities at various times each day from Nov. 18 through Christmas eve. Specific times are at www.TheGreene.com/holiday.

There will be a nativity scene at the center’s park on Plum Street from Saturday, Nov. 18, through Sunday, Dec. 24. You also can celebrate the Victory of Light Over Darkness with a Chanukah menorah at Plum Street Park from Tuesday, Dec. 12, through Wednesday, Dec. 20.

If you find that you're a bit gift-wrap-challenged, the Dayton chapter of the National T.T.T. Society will be on-site for nine different dates in December to help you out. Donations will be accepted, and all proceeds will benefit the National T.T.T. Society. Check out www.TheGreene.com/holiday for gift-wrap dates and times.

On Black Friday, Nov. 24, set your alarm, brew your coffee and grab your friends — The Greene opens at 6 a.m. Enter to win one of 10 iPads that will be given away from 6 to 9:45 a.m. at the redemption center, next to Express, at 4396 Holly Drive. Visit the center's more than 100 establishments while iPad winners are announced from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Gift cards for The Greene also will also be given away. For all rules and restrictions, check www.TheGreene.com/holiday.
