Dressel appointed to Kettering bench

Gov. John Kasich appointed Frederick W. Dressel of Centerville to the Kettering Municipal Court bench, beginning May 19.

Dressel, who replaces the late Judge Robert L. Moore, will have to run in November 2015 to fill out the remainder of the term, which expires Dec. 31, 2019.

Dressel earned his law degree at Ohio State University. Since 1993, he has been in private practice and served as acting judge and acting magistrate for the Kettering Municipal Court and acting magistrate for the Vandalia Municipal Court.

Dressel has served as a precinct captain for the Montgomery County Republican Party, a mock trial coach at Centerville High School and a youth baseball and basketball coach.

He lives in Centerville with his wife and their three children.
