Drowning search for child turns out fake

Police in Celina are calling a report of a child drowning in Grand Lake St. Marys on Wednesday a prank, and officers said they are not laughing.

Rescue crews searched the northwest corner of the lake of the Celina side. Now, officers are looking for the person who made the 911 call.

If the person is caught, the charges against them will be felonies.

The search along the bank and in the water was called off about 90 minutes later and it was determined that the call was a false alarm.
