The dumpster, behind a black construction fence put up by Danis construction, was several from the front of the closed business that appears to be under renovation.

The incident was reported just after 7 p.m. No injuries have been reported.

A WHIO-TV viewer snapped photos and another viewer shot video of the dumpster fire, which was around the corner from Spinoza’s Pizza.

We’re working to find out the probable cause of the fire.

In February, DaytonDailyNews.com reported the mall recently lost major anchors when Elder-Beerman and Sears closed stores as part of their bankruptcy plans.

Mall owner Washington Prime has plans to fill the Sears space with two retail businesses.

We will update this developing report as we learn more.
