A false alarm in a building led to a temporary gate closure Wednesday night in Area B, a base spokeswoman said.

The closure happened after 7 p.m. and shuttered Gate 19B at National Road for more than half an hour, according to spokeswoman Marie Vanover.

Witnesses told News Center 7 about the gate closure.

Base officials would not release the cause of the false alarm or what building it occurred inside.
