A farmer, on his way to harvest crops, picked up something that left a Clayton neighborhood without power.

Authorities said the driver of a combine snagged three power lines, causing the live wires to come down on the combine. The farmer said he did not even know that he was dragging the power poles.

The accident happened on Haber Road near Sweet Potato Ridge Road on Wednesday morning. The farmer used his cell phone to call 911.

Emergency workers closed the intersection, so that they could focus on getting the live wires off the combine and the farmer out safely.

The accident caused power to go out for several hours for people who lived along the road.

Capt. Paula Creech said, "The wires were live and anyone who would have stepped out into them could have been electrocuted."

The farmer managed to walk away from the incident without any injuries.

Crews from Dayton Power and Light responded and had to replace the power poles and lines.
