Fenwick solo/ensemble recital tonight

MIDDLETOWN — Bishop Fenwick High School sends an open invitation to its Annual Solo/Ensemble Recital at 7 p.m. today, March 18, in the Fenwick Cafetorium. This recital is held to showcase all the students that have shown improvement throughout the school year.

The brainstorm of Jason Umberg, music director at BFHS, the evening performance is the “prize” awarded to the best of the music students that excelled during completion of class requirements. Encouraging students to practicing their band music throughout year needs a creative approach sometimes, so practice logs are encouraged and checked during the quarter. Students are expected to log an average of at least 25 minutes per day in order to gain full credit on the practice logs. Congratulations to all students who did well on their testing. Selected to perform as part of the solo recital are the top 11 scoring students. Those students are (in alphabetical order):

Aimee Ashcraft (Miamisburg)– trumpet

Zeb Bell (Middletown) – alto sax

Jack Breeding (Miamisburg) – piano

Jeremiah Brickler (Cincinnati) – alto sax

Jess Bunn (Springboro) – bells

Tommy Fehn (Mason) – marimba

Stephan Fess (Springboro) – snare drum

Tommy Habib (Middletown) – piano

Ben Kimmel (West Chester) – cello

Joe Kleingers (Middletown) – tuba

Larry Mulligan (Middletown) – euphonium

There is no charge for the recital and is open to the general public as well as family, and friends. For more information, call Umberg at Fenwick at (513)727-1500.
