Everyone got out safely and called 911.
There were lots of flames and heavy smoke coming from the second floor when firefighters arrived, Fasnacht said.
Firefighters had difficulty getting to the fire on the second and attic because there were too many things in the way, Fasnacht said, later referring to the structure as a hoarder’s house.
Firefighters were eventually able to put out the fire, but not before the second floor and attic were heavily damaged.
It’s not clear at this time what caused the fire, but a fire investigator is at the scene trying to determine the cause, the district chief said.
The firefighter who was injured was treated at the scene and is doing fine, he said.
