Fire causes minor damage to Xenia home

UPDATE @ 3:50 a.m.

Firefighters in Xenia said a family will be able to stay in their home after a fire broke out in their home early Tuesday morning.

Crews from Xenia, Xenia Township, and Cedarville were dispatched to the 700 block of Xenia Avenue around 2:45 a.m. on reports of a house fire.

Xenia Fire Capt. Jeff Bruggeman said the fire was contained to a wall and part of the attic, but damage was minor.

Bruggeman said smoke detectors alerted the family and helped them escape without any injuries.

The family will be not be displaced and will be able to stay in their home tonight.

The cause of the fire is unknown and still under investigation.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters in Xenia are battling a reported attic fire in a house on Xenia Avenue early Tuesday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the house in the 700 block of Xenia Avenue around 2:45 a.m. and reported smoke from the structure.
