What kind of services do you offer? “We both run our personal training business out of Club 51, we do one-on-one personal training and we also consult for diets and nutrition,” Paxson said. “We’re well known in fitness, which is an appeal… We can work with any kind of person, whether it’s an up and coming athlete or a 65-year-old. From an average person to an athlete wanting to excel in a sport, we’re here to help them meet their goals.”
How did you get into bodybuilding? “I first started competing when I was 21 and in college, one of my girlfriends got me into it. I was a competitive cheerleader, as well as a gymnast and a dancer and I missed the training and trying for something, so I started training for these contests.”
What do you like about personal training? “I saw my body change through the dieting and the conditioning program, and I wanted to give that to other people. Seeing people gain that confidence in themselves as they see the changes their body makes through weight training is great.”
“We just want to see people get in shape, it’s not about turning everyone into pros, this is about helping people reach that healthy lifestyle.”
What do you like about the gym? “[Club 51] is a great club, the weights are extensive, the entire facility is great. There’s a tanning salon, it’s really an all-in-one type of deal. It doesn’t have that corporate gym feel, it has a small gym feel. It’s clean and renovated and when you come in you don’t see a whole bunch of salespeople. There are a lot of nutrition programs, training and diet consultation and contest prep.”
