Flames were visible in the rear of the building on the first floor upon arrival of crews around 9:25 a.m. in the 4300 block of Hoover Avenue, said Dayton Fire District Chief Adam Landis.
Firefighters searched the building and were unable to find anyone inside at the time of the fire.
Damage to the building is estimated to be about $10,000, said Landis.
Investigators are working to determine the cause.
