Former corrections officer indicted on charges after July SWAT standoff

Jeffrey Jordan, 48, will face charges of inducing panic, using weapons while intoxicated, aggravated menacing, and domestic violence, according to court records.

Jordan is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Aug. 7.

He remains booked in the Montgomery County Jail.

A former Montgomery County corrections officer was arrested following a standoff in Riverside this weekend.

Jeffrey Jordan, 48, was arrested following the incident in the 400 block of Darnell Drive early Sunday morning.

Jordan is charged with inducing panic, aggravated menacing, weapons while intoxicated and domestic violence.

Jordan resigned from his position as a corrections officer with Montgomery County in May 2014, county officials said.

Jordan’s wife told police she called for help after he threatened her, loaded a weapon and then pointed it at her. He then turned the gun on himself, threatening suicide, Sgt. David Crigler with the Riverside Police Department said. She was able to leave unharmed.

Crigler said a SWAT team was deemed necessary after the suspect refused to leave the home. Police attempted communicating with the him using a megaphone but were unsuccessful. They eventually made contact with Jordan through multiple phone calls.

Jordan remained in the Montgomery County Jail Tuesday on a $250,000 bond, records show.
