The U.S. Small Business Administration is partnering to sponsor a series of free small business seminars for minority and female business owners.
There is a seminar next week, with the same seminar at different times in Dayton and Cincinnati. Both seminars are about access to capital, with an emphasis on how start-up and home-based businesses can get financing, according to the SBA district office in Columbus.
The seminar in Dayton is 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at The Entrepreneurs Center, 714 E. Monument Ave., Suite 116. Registration is required by contacting The Entrepreneurs Center at (937) 281-0118 or online at www.entrepreneurohio.org.

Allen McConnell of Ohio Department of Development will review the state’s small business loan programs, including the Minority Business Direct Loan Program. And the SBA said representatives from Citywide Development Corporation, the Ohio SBDC Network and Community Development Corporation Consortium, Inc. will explain their lending programs for small businesses.

COMMUNITY
Effort helps keep residents cool
St. Vincent de Paul, in cooperation with WCPO-TV Channel 9, Coney Island, Huntington Bank, Stor-All and Tedia Co., is collecting fans and air conditioners to distribute to the elderly, sick and families with very young children living in homes without air conditioning.
There are three ways the community can help. Residents can make a financial donation at any Greater Cincinnati Huntington Bank through Aug. 13; $90 will provide an air conditioner for a family and $10 will provide a fan.
Residents can make financial contributions at SVDPcincinnati.org.
Residents also have the option to donate a new fan or air conditioner at any St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Center or Thrift Store, Tedia Co., Stor-All Self Storage locations or Coney Island.
For more information, visit SVDPcincinnati.org.
Tedia is based in Fairfield.
