The new addition has added almost 1,800-square-feet of additional space for visitations, funerals and life celebrations.
The restrooms have also been updated and enlarged.
The funeral home has been in existence at the North Main Street and Philadelphia Drive site since 1954 and is being operated by third-generation owner Rick Snider, who is a grandson-in-law to the Bakers and a son-in-law to the Hazels.
Snider’s daughter Abby, who graduated in 2006 from Vandalia-Butler, will begin working in the business as a funeral director apprentice in the summer of 2010 as the company’s fourth generation.
