The Beavercreek Historical Society has moved into the former Beavercreek Township Center at 1981 Dayton-Xenia Road, which became available when the township offices moved into the new Township Administration Building on the corner of Dayton-Xenia Road and Orchard Lane.
Since 2008, the society, founded in 1985, had been housed in the historic Coy House, located across Dayton-Xenia Road, and behind the Beaver United Church of Christ, from the society’s new home.
The move means the historical society’s facilities are now totally handicap accessible, easy to find on a major road, has a security system and all-year climate control, modern restrooms and additional footage.
The Coy House, the home of one of Beavercreek’s founding families, will continue to be maintained and preserved by the township. DIANA BLOWERS, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
