2 gunmen rob Dayton liquor store

Two gunmen took cash from the register and robbed the two clerks on duty at a liquor store Thursday night in the 2500 block of East Third Street.

Dayton officers were dispatched to Bob’s Beer & Wine Carryout, 2501 E. Third St., on a report of a possible robbery.

At about 8:40 p.m., two males entered the store armed with small-caliber handguns, Sgt. Shannon Mason said. One of the robbers wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, and the other wore a black T-shirt and a Lakers baseball cap. Both used bandanas to obscure their faces, Mason said.

The robbers, believed to be in their 20s, went behind the counter where they took money, robbed the clerks and also possibly took cigarettes, the sergeant said. No one was injured.

K-9s were dispatched to the scene, but were unsuccessful in tracking the robbers. The incident was captured on surveillance video, Mason said, and police will be reviewing it.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at (937) 333-2677.
