Gunshot victim drives himself to Dayton Children’s Hospital

UPDATE @ 7:45 p.m. (June 4)

A gunshot victim who drove himself to Dayton Children’s Hospital South Campus in Springboro on Saturday later left Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton against medical advice, Dayton police Sgt. Matthew Osterday said.

The victim, a man from Kentucky in his 40s, was not cooperative with police, Osterday said.

He seemed to report different locations where the shooting happened to each police agency, including two in Dayton and that it may have been in Franklin or Monroe.

When investigators from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lebanon Post spoke to him at Miami Valley Hospital, he said he was shot on Clegg Street in Dayton.

The man left the hospital before Dayton officers could speak with him and were not able to confirm he was shot on Clegg Street. Dayton police detectives will have to follow up with the case, Osterday said.
