Gunshot wound appears self-inflicted

A man who suffered a gunshot wound to his foot may have inflicted the injury himself, according to police.

The man told police he was at a park located at Broadway Street and Dona Avenue when he was shot by two strangers fighting over a gun. He gave a vague description of the two men to police.

The trajectory of the bullet appeared to have traveled straight down into the top of the man's foot as if his finger was on the trigger when he put the gun into his waist band, according to a police report obtained Monday.

The man also told a nurse he would not tell police anything.
