The Dayton Daily News wants to hear from its longest subscribers. STAFF

Every week I hear from readers who want to give me a news tip, ask for help finding information, speak to someone about an ad or delivery issue. And almost every time, the person starts the conversation the same way.

“Jim, I’ve been a subscriber since 1973 …” Or 1964. Or 1984.

They’re proud of it. The Dayton Daily News has been a part of their lives for a long, long time, and they want to keep it that way.

We want to hear from our readers and honor our lifelong subscribers and those who’ve subscribed the longest. We’re planning to do stories and videos of subscribers who’ve been with us the longest, and we plan special events and recognition as well.

For the past year we’ve been celebrating the 120th anniversary of the Dayton Daily News. As that year comes to a close, we’re launching this initiative to thank you for turning to the Dayton Daily News over the years for news, information, deals, sports, recipes, insight, advice, the comics and the crosswords.

Look for stories and other promotion around this initiative in the weeks ahead. And thank you for reading the Dayton Daily News.
