Horses get loose, shut down Cincinnati area traffic

UPDATE @ 10:13 p.m.: After more than an hour of backed-up traffic, our news partner WCPO.com reports that authorities safely recaptured the horses.

A group of horses got loose in the Cincinnati area this afternoon and shut down traffic in both directions on I-74 near Morgan Road, our news partner, WCPO.com, is reporting.

A picture taken at the scene showed at least four horses traveling in a group near the interstate.

The road is shut down to protect drivers and the animals from potential accidents until they are recaptured.

It’s not clear to whom the horses belong or from where they escaped.
