Huber Heights police chase ends in Dayton, police searching for suspect

A police pursuit that started in Huber Heights ended in a crash in Dayton Monday morning.

Police are looking for the suspect who led them on the pursuit after Huber Heights police attempted to make a traffic stop on a gray Volkswagon Jetta for expired license plates at Ohio 201 and Nebraska Avenue around 3:15 a.m., according to a press release from the Huber Heights Police Division.

The driver initially stopped but then sped off and led police on the pursuit reaching speeds of up to 100 mph south on Ohio 201 toward Dayton.

The car crashed into another vehicle on the 200 block of Maryland Avenue. Police said the driver fled on foot.

According to regional dispatchers, the Dayton Police Department got involved in the chase around 3:20 a.m.

The case is under investigation, according to the release.
