“This used to be a tremendous manufacturing area, but the manufacturing has gone down,” said Lee, Wright Brothers Institute open innovation project manager.
The WBI Tec^Edge Innovation and Collaboration Center, 5000 Springfield St. Suite 100, is the site of the free event.
Maker Fest will focus on hobby electronics, 3-D printing, woodworking, kite building and fiber arts, among other areas, and attendees can work on hands-on projects, organizers said.
Speakers will talk about home-built 3-D printers and the history of invention in Dayton, among other topics.
Last year’s first Maker’s Fest attracted more than 50o attendees, Lee said.
