1 taken to a hospital after head-on collision involving a school bus in Dayton

UPDATE @ 4:30 p.m.: One person has been taken to a hospital after a head-on collision involving a Xenia Community Schools bus in Dayton.

The injured party from the car suffered non-life threatening injuries, Dayton firefighter/paramedics tell us. The bus driver was not injured, they said.

The bus driver tells News Center 7 he was eastbound on Germantown Street after dropping off a child in Dayton and a woman driving an oncoming car went left of center at Dearborn Avenue.

There were no children on the bus, the bus driver said.

Germantown Street was shut down in both directions for a time because of the accident, which has been cleared.

Dayton police have not commented on the accident, which is still under investigation.

Medics have been requested following a crash that involved a school bus on Germantown Street in Dayton Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported near the intersection of Germantown Street and Dearborn Avenue in Dayton around 3:50 p.m.

It was not immediately known how many people were injured in the crash or if any students were on the bus.
