Man pulled from Centerville crash after fire erupts

UPDATE @ 11:30 a.m.:

A driver hit a tree and his vehicle caught fire during the crash on Normandy Lane this morning.

A deputy and bystander ran to the driver's rescue and were able to pull him from the burning vehicle, according to police.

The driver was taken to a local hospital, where his condition was not immediately known.

Police are still investigating why the driver lost control.

INITIAL REPORT:

Injuries have been initially reported after a vehicle slammed into a tree on Normandy Lane in Centerville Monday morning.

Emergency crews were initially dispatched around 10:15 a.m. to Normandy Lane north of Ohio 725 on initial reports of a vehicle that crashed into a tree.

Initial reports indicate the driver was trapped inside the vehicle but was pulled out before rescue crews arrived.

The condition of the driver was not immediately available.

Deputies and Centerville police have reportedly blocked Normandy Lane between West Ridgeway Drive and Paragon Road.
