Authorities say they responded to the bar, located at 400 E. National Road, after a worker said she was taking out the trash just after midnight when an unknown man reportedly displayed a weapon and demanded money from her.

The man cut the employee on her torso during the incident, though it is unclear what kind of weapon was used, police said. She was not transported to an area hospital for the injuries, which are described as minor.

The suspect, whose description was not immediately released, did not get away with anything.

A K-9 unit was requested to assist authorities in their search for the suspect, which was unsuccessful.

The incident is being handled by Vandalia police.
