The Barrel House in downtown Dayton has opened its new patio, which will be available to well-behaved dogs — but not certain people.
As to what type of individual will be prohibited from using the new patio in front of the beer pub at 417 E. Third St., we’ll let The Barrel House’s owners fill in that blank:
The Barrel House beer pub in downtown Dayton is poised to start building a patio just outside its front entrance after obtaining approval for the project from the city.
“Buildout starts Monday,” Barrel House owners Gus Stathes and Sara Levin told this news outlet. “We’re hoping to have it done in about a week, maybe two, depending on weather. We’re thirsty for this thing!”
The patio will be relatively small and will not have tables.
“We’ll have a drink rail along the perimeter and some stools, with room for maybe 10 folks comfortably,” the bar’s owners said. Stathes and Levin are researching the legalities of making the patio dog-friendly.
The metal work will be done by local welder Roland Tipton, who also created the Ermal’s can bike rack at nearby Warped Wing Brewing Company, Barrel House’s owners said.
The Barrel House is located at 417 E. Third St., near the Wayne Avenue intersection. The television-free pub has 20 taps devoted to craft beers, wines and ciders.
