A scales team from the Motor Carrier Division of the OSP weighed each car, which is routine in a fatal crash. The reconstruction team is also calculating the speed of each vehicle at the time of the crash.
The crash was reported around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 117 and Fairmount Road near the Auglaize-Hardin and Auglaize-Allen county lines.
Michael Ford, 26, of Belle Center was killed in the crash. The other driver, Brandon Fetter, 21, of Waynesfield, was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Trooper said Fetter made a left turn and went into Ford's path. According to troopers, Ford was not wearing a properly adjusted seat belt.
OSP also said alcohol may be contributing factor to the crash.
