The tree was reported down, near Far Hills Avenue and Northview Road, sometime after 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police came out and placed orange traffic cones around the tree, which appears to have taken down a light pole wire.
No injuries were reported.
Winds were picking up Thursday night and gusts of 25 mph to 35 mph were expected overnight, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said.

A city crew will come out and cut up the tree and remove it sometime Friday, an Oakwood Public Safety Department dispatcher said.
