Lebanon woman killed in Kansas accident

A Lebanon woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon near Cimarron, Kansas, according to Hutchnews.com

Janet Toedtman, 77, Lebanon, was eastbound on U.S. 50 about 3 p.m. She attempted to pass a tractor-trailer, driven by Brian Baker, 45, Valley Center, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Her 2002 Honda hit the semi before it spun, crossed into the westbound lane and was hit by a 2002 GMC utility vehicle, driven by Carey Hodge, 41, Garden City, Kansas, according to the Web site.

Toedtman was taken to Great Western Plains Hospital where she died. Hodge was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City for a possible injury, and Baker was not injured. All were wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
