Little Miami High School principal takes Ross High School principal job

ROSS TWP. — Brian Martin, principal of Little Miami High School, has been named the new principal of Ross High School.

The Ross Local School District Board of Education unanimously approved hiring Martin at its Monday board meeting, said Superintendent Greg Young.

It will be something of a homecoming for Martin, who is a graduate of Edgewood High School and did his student teaching experience at Ross High School in 1996 under social studies teacher Bob Ward.

“I’ve always had an affinity for Ross,” he said, “and I always knew that if an opportunity came up to go back to the district that I would go.

“The feel of the community is very similar to where I grew up. The support the community has for the school was a draw for me.”

Board members gave Martin a two-year contract effective Aug. 1.

Martin earned his bachelor’s degree from Miami University and his master’s degree in educational administration from Xavier University.

He began his career in education in the Oak Hills Local School District where he served as a social studies teacher and counselor.

Martin next served as the assistant principal of Indian Hill Middle School for four years, before becoming assistant principal, then principal, of Little Miami High School.

“We believe that Mr. Martin has the experience and leadership qualities necessary to continue the tradition of excellence at Ross High School,” Young stated.

Martin is replacing Lani Wildow, who recently took the position of director of curriculum with the Fairfield City School District.
