Local utility officials say they have not been asked to send crews to Texas to help repair damage done by Tropical Storm Harvey, but the stand ready to assist if needed.

"We have offered to send crews if needed, but at this time the utilities down in the Texas area have reached out to utilities who are closer to them to provide assistance," said Mark Durbin, spokesman for First Energy, which does business locally as Ohio Edison. "That could change in the future," he said. "We did offer to help if needed."
Dayton Power and Light also participated in a regional mutual aid call and remain on standby to assist if needed.
This news organization has also reached out to Duke Energy to see if they will be travelling to Texas to offer assistance, but have not yet heard back.
