Kemper, 71, died Sunday at home from natural causes, according to the Warren County Coroner’s Office.
Arrangements are pending with Anderson Funeral Home.
“He was just a great man. He gave of himself to athletics and Springboro for years,” said Charles Anderson, a school board member and owner of the funeral home. “He was just one of those people everybody knew, cared for and respected.”
Kemper and his wife Dianne were graduates of Springboro High School, and that Wayne had coached in a variety of athletic programs throughout his over-40-year career, according to the district.
“Mr. Kemper’s passing is a huge loss for both Springboro Schools and the Springboro community,” according to a district statement.
Counselors were available throughout the school day Monday for both students and staff.
Details of the coach’s services will be given to students, parents and staff as that information becomes available, according to the district statement.
