For over 75 years, the restaurant displayed a unique collection of antique toys.
Hill explained that he was “not quite sure” what he will do with the antiques, but they are labeled and documented in storage.
“The whole inside looks nothing like it used to, but that’s what I wanted,” Hill said. “I wanted a whole new look, a whole new vibe.”

When customers walk in they will see new flooring, seating, pictures and a new fireplace.
Hill said that he named the restaurant, 316 Tap & Barrel Grill, because Lower Valley Pike (County Road 316) is the Ohio Byway that runs in front of the restaurant.
“I still wanted to keep some history with it because we’ve been here so long,” Hill said. “We’re actually the 17 stop on the Ohio Byway.”
Hill said that customers will still be able to order their favorite menu items like pizza, burgers and smoked food.
The “316 Sticky Adventure” will still be offered.
“We offer a sticky burger, sticky pizza, sticky nachos - that’s basically peanut butter and our famous jelly,” Hill said.
The restaurant also offers craft beer and 50 different bourbons.
“You have to change, you have to stay with the times, you have to offer people what they want,” Hill said. “But, like I said 95 percent of the people have been ecstatic about it and love the changes.”

Hill added that there were a few customers that said they were not coming in to try the restaurant because of the changes.
“Give us a try first, come in and experience it and then we would love to hear your feedback because we can get better everyday,” Hill said.
316 Tap & Barrel Grill offers carryout, and indoor and outdoor dining on their front and back patios.
Hill said since changing the name of the restaurant on June 2, they have seen an increase of repeat customers.
“I have met so many people over the years,” Hill said. “There’s been a lot of good ones and I think that’s what makes it worth while - bringing a service to the community and getting a good response out of it.”
