Mailing addresses change for some in West Chester Twp.

WEST CHESTER TWP. — No longer will West Chester Twp. residents have to use a Fairfield mailing address for their mail.

West Chester Twp. Community Development and the United States Postal Service announced Monday that township residents using a 45014 zip code may use West Chester as the city for their mailing address, instead of Fairfield, the assigned city for the zip code.

The change, which affects residents on the west side of the township, will not impact mail delivery as long as the correct zip code, 45014, is still used in the mailing address.

Zip codes do not represent the boundaries of townships of municipalities, according to the USPS, and are established based upon delivery routes and post office locations and sizes.

“These residents and businesses can now demonstrate their community pride by using ‘West Chester’ as their mailing address along with their existing zip code,” said a press release from West Chester Township Community Development.

The use of West Chester Twp. in the mailing address is optional for residents.
