The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office said they were never asked by Trotwood police to review charges against Holly Wynn following her initial arrest earlier this week.
We’ve reached out to Trotwood police to see if they are still considering Wynn a suspect in the stabbing death or if she’s been cleared in the case, however have not heard back.
UPDATE @ 8:05 p.m. (Nov. 27): A woman police describe as a friend of a Trotwood man found slain in his home remains jailed on a preliminary charge of murder, while investigators continue searching for a vehicle they believe was taken from the home.
Trotwood Police Chief Erik Wilson said investigators do not believe the homicide was a random act but do believe the crime is related to a relationship.
Kevin Colter, 54, was pronounced dead in his home, in the 700 block of Elsworth Drive, the afternoon of Nov. 24. He had been stabbed multiple times. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has ruled Colter’s death a homicide.
Holly Michelle Wynn, 35, remains detained at the Montgomery County Jail pending the filing of a formal charge of murder. She was arrested Monday afternoon at police headquarters and after questioning was booked into the jail.
Chief Wilson told News Center 7’s Mike Campbell on Tuesday that Wynn is not related to Colter, but has “an established relationship with the victim.”

A man, in a 911 call to county regional dispatch, said, "We just found a guy in the house. He looks like he's been stabbed. I think he’s dead. He’s in the house laying in the kitchen.”
Wilson said investigators did not find drugs at the scene but found knives in the house Colter moved into recently.
Police aren’t sure the knives found were the weapons used in the crime, but investigators do believe alcohol might have played a role in the incident.
“You could tell alcohol had been consumed,” the chief said.
Meantime, police are continuing to look for the vehicle police believe was taken from the garage. It belongs to Colter’s mother, Wilson said, noting police do not believe the crime is a robbery.
It is unclear whether whoever has the vehicle is considered to have been involved in the slaying.
