Man pinned under large dump truck in Enon

UPDATE @ 9:40 p.m.: The large dump truck "looks like it shifted" while the man was performing some kind of maintenance on it and pinned him beneath one of its wheels, Enon Mad River Twp. Fire Chief Tracy Young said.

"He does have some significant trauma," Young said, noting the man was reported to be in stable condition at the hospital, where he was scheduled for hand surgery.

Fire/medic crews dispatched just after 5:20 p.m. were able to extricate the man very rapidly by digging out the earth underneath him, the chief said. CareFlight was nearby on another run and was on the ground quickly, he said.

Young said he couldn't give the man's name and wasn't sure about his age, but said crews believe the man was working on the truck in front of his house.

Enon police are continuing to investigate the incident.
