Man who killed mother with child in car sentenced

The man who shot and killed a Middletown mother and left her body in a vehicle with her 6-month-old child in the backseat in 2016 was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility for parole.

Brandon Carr, 36, was sentenced in front of Judge Steven Dankof Thursday morning.

Carr shot Brittany Russell, who was found dead in her car in an apartment parking lot on Free Pike in Dayton.

Carr was charged with murder, kidnapping, felonious assault, tampering with evidence and several other charges.
