FAIRBORN, Ohio — Two men have been arrested for the robbery of an elderly man on Tuesday.

Officers say the robbery took place around 8:20 p.m. in the 300 block of North Third Street; the man was attacked and knocked to the ground before his wallet was taken.

The wallet was recovered behind a nearby business a short time later.

A police investigation revealed Jonathon Smiddy as the driver of the vehicle involved.

Smiddy was arrested and is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Police said a second man, Franklin Minton was the one who used physical force to steal the victim's wallet.

Minton is being held in the Clark County Jail on a different charge.

The case is expected to go before a grand jury next week.
